Publishing Support
Through the CzechElib consortium, the BC has entered into so-called transformation agreements with several leading publishers. Under these agreements, the BC receives a certain number of tokens each year for Open Access publishing on highly favourable terms. Simply put, the token fully replaces the APC payment for Open Access publishing.
The BC also supports Open Access publishing through the Director’s OA Fund. Authors from the Biological Centre may apply for a grant to cover up to 50% of the APC in cases where, for example, the journal in question does not allow the use of the aforementioned tokens.
